It all started in 1987, that is when Marathon Office Interiors (MOI) was formed to serve the mid-Missouri area with quality office products and is the authorized Steelcase dealer for mid-Missouri, specializing in custom and complete office interior solutions. Its current President and CEO founded Marathon Office Interiors, Greg Wolff. Marathon Office Interiors has grown over the years from a small company which leased its facilities in Columbia and Jefferson City to a growing company which has complete control of their facilities at 1715 Paris Road in Columbia, Missouri. Marathon Office Interiors is proud to have been affiliated with some of the world’s finest companies such as: previously-Xerox, AT&T, and now Steelcase. In 1992 the Columbia Chamber of Commerce awarded “Business of the Year – Retail” to Marathon Office Interiors. In 2004, Frank Sovich joined Marathon Office Interiors and Vice President and co-owner of MOI. In 2006 Marathon Office Interiors joined the Starnet Worldwide Commercial Partnership. Starnet is comprised of over 170 locally-owned full-service flooring contractors representing more than 300 locations throughout North America and the United Kingdom. With $2 billion in annual sales, Starnet is the single most influential force in the contract flooring industry. In January 2010, Marathon Office Interiors purchased Pioneer Window Works from Larry Schuster. Pioneer Window Works had been a company in Columbia, MO with a 35+ year history.
At that time MOI also changed its name to Marathon Building Environments. This change helps to identify Marathon Building Environment as a business that in all-encompassing when it comes to building solutions, both interior, and exterior.
Marathon Building Environments firmly believes in community spirit and strongly encourages every employee to participate in civic service. Marathon Building Environments is currently a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and supports a variety of local charities with time and money.
