Marathon Building Environments and all of its divisions (Design, Furniture, Flooring, Pioneer Window Works and Operations) were honored to design and furnish the new Incubator at the Missouri Innovation Center (MIC) on the University of Missouri’s campus.  We worked closely with the leaders at the MIC and the Engineers from MU’s Design and Construction Services Department to create a truly modern and fresh working area for today’s up and coming entrepreneurs.

The project not only included furniture, flooring and window shades, but we were also asked to provide solutions for sound masking and distributing power to all of the workstations throughout the space.

In the center or hub of the area is an architectural element that helps divide the space while still being open to everyone.  It is a trellis like feature with whiteboards on all sides.  Inside the trellis is a picnic table which answers the call for an outdoor feeling meeting space that captures the collaborative needs of the modern workplace.

This new space is proving to be a tremendous showplace for Marathon, because of that, our Dealer Principals (Greg Wolff and Frank Sovich) and Leadership Team thought that it would be a great idea to film the entire process from start to finish.  We approach and worked with The Evoke Group and they did an outstanding job! This really shows all of the planning and implementation it takes to create a modern and innovative working environment.

Marathon is extremely proud of this project and want to thank everyone involved, starting with the MIC leadership, all of the Marathon Team Members and our vendor partners (FURNITURE: Steelcase, Coalesse, Turnstone, BuzziSpace, Izzy+, Connectrac, WINDOW SHADES: Draper, FLOORING: Tandus/Centiva, Johnsonite) and of course The Evoke Group.
